The Flat-Hackathon project was conceived to keep pace with the lifestyles of the society of the future. The Flat-Hackathon application serves a system of multifunctional living units located around the world. The system encompasses not only the housing units themselves, but also the entire infrastructure behind them. Custom manufacturing and prefabrication methods allow the facilities to grow rapidly. Flat-Hackathon reinterprets the village as a vertical arrangement, seeking to reintroduce the human and domestic scale into a dense urban environment. The design was developed using housing arranged on a grid: eleven typologies, together with their variations, are combined in endless ways to create a wide range of spaces and architectural forms. There are also communal spaces, much like a village square, accommodating activities such as sports, vegetable gardening, relaxation, worship, laundry and food courts. Gardens and shared spaces aim to foster social connections. The plots address the problem of settlement, but their limited size cannot provide fully comfortable conditions for residents. By taking this a step further and minimizing the living area of each apartment, it becomes possible to introduce modules shared and owned by everyone. Communal spaces enrich the settlement with a new layer of housing: they offer a form of co-living focused primarily on interpersonal interaction. These informal spaces not only bring people together, but also offer multidimensional experiences that enhance the overall comfort of everyday life. Providing a range of apartment module options makes it possible to bring together people from all walks of life and encourage them to contribute their visions of living to the tower community. By supporting this diversity, we create a one-of-a-kind place that challenges limitations and differences and embraces the original joy of social interaction.
